WHAT IS AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
Engagements shoots are great for a few reasons; firstly, it helps you to feel comfortable in front of the camera. You also get to know the guy you’ll be stuck with for 8-10 hours on your wedding day—the guy with the two cameras pointing in your direction for a good part of that.
Most couples following their engagement shoot often say to me, “That’s not what I expected at all.” “I was worried it’d be super posed, and I’d feel uncomfortable for the entirety of the shoot.” Or something along the lines of “I had no idea what to expect, but that was just easy.”
So here it is, how I’d explain an engagement shoot in short. You, the couple and your photographer hanging out for an hour at an epic location. Talking about the wedding, yourselves, how you met, and all that fun stuff. At the same time, as taking a few photos.
It all comes down to one thing, making my couples feel super comfortable, creating great shots along the way and having some damn fun. People who think engagement shoots, weddings and portraits should be stiff, posed and fit the shape of what everyone else is doing or what they’ve seen on Pinterest are simply kidding themselves.
So, if you’re keen to hang out and create some photos, let’s talk!
