Sam & Madi’s Wedding - Hunter Valley

Sam & Madi first reached out to me in 2021, after I'd photographed Sam's headshots at his place of work at the time. We caught up and talked about all things weddings and just clicked. They wanted someone with chill energy who could keep things rolling during the day, be spontaneous, and capture the raw moments. So basically, my style described perfectly.

About 12 months out from the wedding, we caught up for their engagement shoot at Birubui Beach, Port Stephens. Their cavoodle pup Mili made an appearance and, at times, stole the show. But no one was complaining about that! It was a super relaxed afternoon documenting this beautiful couple's connection while hanging out at the beach with their doggo.

The wedding day rolled around, and I was keen to be at one of my favourite Hunter valley wedding venues for Sam & Madi's big day. A great lineup of suppliers were also involved in making this day happen; a last-minute videographer change (thanks covid) saw Will David of Euphoria Films, covering for Filmed by Andy. Brad, The Colourful Celebrant, conducted the ceremony, adding some modern flair into the mix.

Following the wedding ceremony, family photos took place on the hill with the Broke mountain range as the perfect backdrop before the guests made their way down to the reception area for drinks & canapes. Will & I took the bridal party around the grounds of Palmers Lane, using some of the iconic spots every couple is drawn to when booking this picturesque venue, as well as a few of the not-so-obvious, gorgeous photo spots shown in the sunset photos below.

The reception kicked off with the bride & groom entering and going straight into their high-energy, crazy choreographed first dance. The dance, complete with a backflip, meant that the guests could hardly comprehend what they'd just witnessed. An epic way to get the night started. Here is their wedding day as told in photographs.
