Jess & Kyle | Chateau Elan Wedding

Jess & Kyle’s Wedding - Chateau Elan - Hunter Valley

Jess & Kyle got married at the Carriage House, Chateau Elan on Saturday 30th November 2019.

The weather upon arrival was looking a little bit overcast and as though rain was just around the corner. As per usual though, I didn’t let this phase me, having previously shot at Chateau Elan The Vintage on a day where we had torrential rain and insane wind, this was nothing.

Jaden Cavanagh was my second for the day, a legend with easily one of the best beards around and pretty sharp camera skills. He looked after the groomsmen during prep while I was over with the Bride and her family.

Hair & makeup was well underway when I arrived, with the very talented Kimidoll Makeup Artistry & Hair by Brooke Broughton ladies doing what they do best. We watched out the window as the rain started to roll in, I kept reassuring the family and of course our Bride that she had nothing to worry about.

Moments before the ceremony, as the bride’s car arrived at the church the sky opened up and it absolutely poured down. The amazing staff from Chateau had it all covered though, figuratively and literally. Running our Bride and bridesmaids from the car, undercover to the chapel.

Sophie of C’est la Sophie was Jess & Kyle’s celebrant. Having worked with her before at a recent wedding I knew she’d really get things rolling. Nearly right on cue, the rain stopped and the sun starting pouring in through the windows as these two lovers had their first kiss as Mr & Mrs Jenkins. A short and sweet ceremony was followed by a petal throwing tunnel exit which looked absolutely incredible!! (See above).

Shortly after family photos we pile into the golf carts and shot off to our first location. A cool little spot in the middle of Chateau Elan that looks more like a forest than a vineyard, a great contrast to the rest of the Valley.

From there we went up towards Bimbadgen, ended up in their vineyard for the majority of the photos. The perfect backdrop of mountains, coupled with the vines in the foreground made for some excellent photos! The tunes were pumping the whole time, thanks to the ‘JBL Boombox’, nothing wrong with some shameless product endorsement, am I right?

The reception kicked off around 6 PM, with the guests enjoying themselves in the Barrington Room. Kazzie Music had everyone dancing well into the night. A super fun wedding, with a crazy mix of weather and a bridal party who knew how to get down & have fun!

Thanks again Jess & Kyle for having us!

“OMG the photos are absolutely beautiful!! We are stoked!!
I want to say the biggest thank you to you for so many reasons! You managed to make me feel so calm yesterday and at ease when things weren’t exactly going to plan - veil and that ridiculous thunderstorm.
But the aftermath of the thunderstorm delivered such a beautiful backdrop for us and you were the best photographer! It was so relaxed and fun! We actually had a ball! We cannot thank you enough!! We are still on cloud 9!!”
